Schneider’s Fleet Maintenance Support team provides a wide range of services that help support our drivers through breakdowns or other major equipment-related issues. Whether you’re on the frontlines in Schneider’s Emergency Maintenance call center or running our maintenance behind the scenes, you will use your expertise to keep our drivers going, equipment running and freight in motion.
Fleet Maintenance Support internship snapshot
As a Schneider Mechanical Engineering intern, you will gain a broad understanding of Schneider's trucks, technology and mechanical engineering practices. Our Mechanical Engineering interns work hands-on with our equipment through assisting with our annual fuel testing efforts.

Roadside Assistance Dispatcher
Schneider’s Roadside Assistance Dispatcher is the go-to person for Schneider's drivers when they encounter a significant equipment-related problem or breakdown. You will use your quick-thinking skills and Schneider’s extensive network of vendors to come up with a maintenance plan that minimizes equipment downtime and gets our drivers back on the road safely.
Service Writer
As a Service Writer, you will take calls from company drivers in which you collect information about the nature of any equipment-related problems, make an initial diagnosis and determine the best course of action. In cases where emergency repair is necessary, you’ll act as a liaison between the driver and the repair shop by issuing work orders and sending status updates through the appropriate channels.
Sourcing Assistant
Our Sourcing Assistants use their knowledge of vendor relationships and supply chain management to maintain a constant and effective flow of aftermarket parts to Schneider’s maintenance shops. You’ll be part of a small, specialized team and gain valuable skills setting up new vendors, updating aftermarket parts contracts and processing annual repair parts contracts.

Emergency Maintenance Manager
The Emergency Maintenance Manager role leads Schneider’s Emergency Maintenance call center by driving the performance and development of the team, which includes Technicians, Service Writers and Coordinators. You will take a hands-on approach to managing the day-to-day workflow and provide guidance that helps your team make repair decisions that are timely, efficient, safe and cost-effective.
Maintenance Vendor Manager
Schneider’s Maintenance Vendor Manager manages the company’s relationships with non-Schneider maintenance shops within their designated region. You will work to create and maintain an effective network of emergency maintenance service providers by negotiating labor and parts rates and ensuring maintenance plans are in line with Schneider’s goals and values.
Maintenance Sales Operations Manager
As a Maintenance Sales Operations Manager, you will lead the equipment sales team in the disposal of Schneider's used trucks, trailers and other specialty equipment. This role requires an extensive knowledge of used trucking equipment and sales strategy, which you will use to provide strategic and tactical direction.
